Coach Leaves Lyons Township High Sports Program
The coach planned to pursue different opportunities.

LA GRANGE, IL – Lyons Township High School's softball coach left over the summer after two seasons.
Recently, Patch obtained Athletic Director John Grundke's July 18 email to players and their parents. He announced that coach Megan Pyles Quinn was "no longer with the softball program."
"We wish Coach Quinn the best in future endeavors and thank her for her service to LTHS and our softball program," Grundke said.

Through a public records request, Patch sought Quinn's resignation letter. The school initially said it did not have one.
In a message to Patch on Tuesday, Quinn said she emailed the letter to Grundke on July 18.

"It is not clear as to why the school did not release the letter to the public, but there was a record of sending it," she said.
Asked about this, the school's spokesperson, Mary Lin Muscolino, said the letter had not been in the human resources department's files. She then provided it.
In the letter, Quinn informed the school she was leaving to pursue different endeavors. She said she appreciated the opportunity at the school.
As of this week, the position remains unfilled. It was posted on the school's website on Aug. 29.
In February 2023, the school put out a news release on Quinn's selection as the coach. It did not issue a similar statement for her departure, according to a search of its website.
According to the 2023 statement, Quinn was a four-year starter in high school and went on to play shortstop at Moraine Valley Community College.
She had held a number of coaching positions.
Quinn did not work at the high school. She had a job as a lead collector at a Burr Ridge firm.
