Downed Power Line Starts Garage Fire in La Grange
The power line ignited a fence that then caught onto the garage, Fire Chief Bill Bryzgalski said.
A garage caught fire in the 0-99 block of South 7th Avenue in La Grange Monday night after a downed power line ignited a fence next to the garage.
Firefighters were on the scene about two hours trying to extinguish the blaze as best they could before ComEd arrived to cut power to the house, Chief Bill Bryzgalski said.
Two cars were damaged in the fire, he said.
