LA GRANGE, IL – Several changes are happening with Chase Bank in La Grange.

On Monday, the La Grange Village Board approved changes for three properties in town.

A separate company, GW LaGrange LLC, plans to make way for the construction of a new building for Chase Bank at GW La Grange's site at 31 E. Ogden Ave., which is northeast of La Grange Road and Ogden Avenue.

The company also wants a ground sign at Ogden and Shawmut Avenue to direct traffic to Chase Bank, a nearby apartment complex and other businesses.

In return for these requests, the company plans to demolish the old drive-thru building at 308 W. Burlington Ave., next to the police station. It will be replaced by green space, according to GW La Grange.

Meanwhile, the existing six-lane ATM canopy will be reduced to accommodate two ATMs, according to the plan.

In return for the zoning approvals, Chase Bank plans to renovate its existing building at 14 S. La Grange Road. It is set to convert the first floor to commercial space, including stores and restaurants, and the second to seven apartments.

Chase Bank's operations are expected to be moved to the new site at La Grange Road and Ogden Avenue.

The Village Board, which did not discuss the plan at its meeting, voted unanimously for it.
