Fall is Here as Leaf Pick Up Begins in October
The public works crews in La Grange and La Grange Park will be picking up leaves beginning in October.

In case the newly cool weather wasn't indication enough that fall is on its way, both La Grange and La Grange Park will begin leave collection early in October. As you trade the lawnmower for the rake this year, here's what you need to know about leaf pick up in La Grange and La Grange Park.
The Department of Public Works in will be picking up leaves from Oct. 10 through Nov. 23. will begin their pick up this year on Oct. 17 and will continue pick up through December if needed, and as weather permits.
In both villages, residents should rake their leaves into the street, and yard waste stickers are not required for pick up.

Tips
- Don't rake leaves into one large pile, but instead spread it out the length of your lawn.
- Leave about a foot of space between leaf piles and the curb to help the village with collection.
- Brush, branches and other yard waste should be omitted.
- Don't cover catch basins the in the street with leaves, as it could lead to clogging and flooding if we get some fall showers.
In La Grange Park, residents who live on La Grange Road, 31st Street, or Maple Avenue can rake their leaves onto a side street, or can bag them and leave them on the parkway.

In La Grange, residents on Ogden Avenue, 47th Street, or East Avenue can also put their leaves on the parkway.
La Grange Park also reminds residents about parking their vehicles on leaf piles, as heat from mufflers can start fires. Also, if we get some rain, wet leaves mean slippery driving.
