LA GRANGE, IL – A fire damaged a first-floor apartment late Friday morning in southeast La Grange, authorities said. In an interview with Patch, La Grange Fire Chief Daniel Reda said the unit in the three-story complex at 925 Eighth Ave. is uninhabitable. He said no one was inside the apartment when the fire was called in. No injuries were reported. "The guys did a good job," said Reda, referring to the department's firefighters. The fire's cause is under investigation, he said.
