Fireworks on Washington

Fireworks were set off in the 100 block of Washington around 11:44 p.m., police said. Everything was quiet when the officer arrived.

Fireworks Shot at Parking Garage

Several callers reported someone shooting fireworks at the downtown parking garage around 4:59 p.m., police said. Surveillance cameras showed a group gathered at the fountain. A 15-year-old Countryside boy was issued a compliance ticket.

Stolen Bike

An older model red Schwinn English Racer bike was stolen sometime during the day from the La Grange Road train station, police said. The bike was worth less than $500.

Car Windows Smashed

Someone smashed the windows on a car parked in Village Lot 2, police said.

Fireworks Thrown at Cars

Kids threw fireworks at cars around 9:34 p.m. while hiding in the bushes at Gilbert and Ogden, police said. A caller also reported fireworks in the 800 block of South Kensington around 9:56 p.m. Officers were unable to find the kids.

Recycling Bins Kicked into Street

Teens kicked two recycling bins into the street around 10:29 p.m. in the 1100 block of Hillgrove, police said. Officers were unable to find the kids.

Another Round of Graffiti on Shed

Someone painted more graffiti on a shed that had previously been spray-painted in the 700 block of South 6th Avenue, police said. The graffiti is not gang related.
