Firefighters arriving at the house in the 5000 block of Wolf Road reported smoke and fire on the second and third floors. They found the fire was catching on the home's insulation, and structural parts of the home were also on fire, according to the department. The flames were traveling inside walls and in void spaces on both floors.

Firefighters launched an aggressive attack and coordinated to open the walls to reach the spreading fire before it caused excessive damage.

Additional mutual aid was called as the fire was upgraded to a box alarm, bringing in crews from La Grange, La Grange Park, Clarendon Hills, Oakbrook, Tri-State, Broadview, Riverside, McCook and Westmont.

Fire damage affected the insulations and some of the home's structural parts, and water damaged much of the house. The estimated cost of the damage is $30,000, according to the department.

No civilians or firefighters were injured in the blaze. An investigation was conducted to find the origin and cause of the fire.
