iPhone Stolen in Strong Arm Robbery in La Grange

Two 12-year-old boys were robbed June 21 by teenagers.

La Grange, IL — Two 12-year-old boys were robbed around 7:30 p.m. June 21 at Cossitt and Ashland avenues in La Grange.

The boys were walking southbound on Ashland Avenue when two teenage boys approached them and demanded items from their pockets, according to the La Grange Police Department.

No weapons were used, and no one was injured, but one of the 12 year olds handed over an iPhone 6.

The teenagers took the phone and walked northbound on Ashland Avenue, police reported.

One of the offenders is described as black, 16 to 18 years old, 5 feet 8 inches to 6 feet tall with a slim build and short hair, police reported. He was wearing a white T-shirt, gray sweatpants and black Nike gym shoes.

The other offender is described as black, 16 to 18 years old, 5 feet 8 inches to 6 feet tall with an athletic build and short hair, police reported. He was wearing a black T-shirt, black shorts and black athletic shoes.

The Investigations Division is working the case and investigating if this robbery is connected to a similar armed robbery in January.
