La Grange Area Carjacking Suspects Captured
One of them displayed a gun outside a local business, police said.
COUNTRYSIDE, IL – Officers nabbed two men Wednesday in an armed carjacking at a gas station just outside of La Grange, police said.
The suspects were identified as Donnell L. Melvin, 23, and Soee A. Williams, 18, both of Chicago.
Both were charged with aggravated vehicular hijacking and armed robbery. Melvin was also charged with unlawful possession of a fully automatic firearm.

Police said they would be held at the police station until they can be taken to the Cook County Courthouse in Bridgeview.
The incident was reported shortly before noon Wednesday at the BP gas station on La Grange and Plainfield roads in Countryside. It is next to La Grange's village limit.

The victim told officers that the suspects stole his car, with one of them displaying a gun.
Shortly after, a Countryside officer saw the victim's car headed west on Plainfield Road from Brainard Avenue, Countryside police said.
With officers in pursuit, the driver sped and crashed on the ramp to Interstate 294, southbound from Wolf Road.
The first suspect was then caught right away, while the other ran into nearby woods, police said.
The search for the second suspect brought in other police departments. Officers found the person and a gun, police said.
