La Grange Area Voter Guide: 2022 Primary Election

Early voting is underway in Illinois. Find out who is running and where to vote in the June 28 election in the La Grange area.

LA GRANGE — Election Day is almost here. Early voting in the June 28 primary election started Monday in Illinois.

Through June 27, residents in La Grange and Hodgkins can vote early at temporary voting sites throughout Cook County.

Hodgkins Village Hall, 8990 Lyons St., serves as an early voting site.

Voting hours at these temporary voting sites are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sundays. Starting Monday, some locations will offer extended hours until 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

4th Congressional District
Incumbent Democratic Rep. Jesus "Chuy" Garcia is running unopposed in the Democratic primary.

On the flipside, James Falakos, owner of a heating and cooling company, is running unopposed in the Republican primary.

6th Congressional District
Incumbent Democratic Rep. Sean Casten is being challenged by Democratic Rep. Marie Newman, who currently represents the 3rd Congressional District. Charles Hughes, a Nicor Gas operation mechanic, is also running in the Democratic primary.

On the other side, six Republicans are hoping to flip the 6th Congressional seat:

  • Catherine A. O’Shea
  • Keith Pekau

Lyons Township
Bridgeview Mayor and retiring state senator Steve Landek is running unopposed for Lyons Township Democratic committeeman.

Incumbent Lyons Township Republican Committeewoman Katie Justak is being challenged by McCook Mayor Terry Carr.
