LA GRANGE, IL – La Grange is working with another agency to improve six blocks of South La Grange Road, from 47th Street to Plainfield Road.

The project aims to create a plan to transform this part of the road into a safe, accessible and thriving corridor.

That's according to a statement on the website for the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning, which has teamed up with the village.

On the site, the agency, which is seeking the public's feedback, refers to the village's long-term development plan, which the Village Board approved late last year.

The plan advises the village to accommodate denser residential and commercial development along the section of South La Grange Road.

"Redevelopment of some blocks within this corridor is feasible but requires property acquisition by a developer and design attentive to adjacent residential uses," the plan said.
