This lively seasonal marketplace connects small farmers and small-batch food producers with community residents and local restaurant chefs. The number of vendors has doubled in size in the past two years, as more consumers look to buy local. Along with many popular returning growers and producers, several new artisans this year include: A Taste of Martha's Kitchen; Bettina's Tea; Covered in Chocolate; Elevenses, Inc; Island Soapies; Lovin' Tails; Vegan Crazy; and We're Nuts.
Because of the Midwest's growing season, some farmers may not attend until late May.

Farmers markets strengthen local communities by drawing attention to the surrounding businesses. A recent study of nine markets in three major cities conducted by Market Umbrella, a non-profit think tank, showed that over 40% of market shoppers spend money at nearby businesses when they visit the neighborhood.
"The farmers market is a wonderful seasonal amenity for La Grange," said Paul LeFaivre, farmers market chair for the LGBA and owner of Bottle and Bottega. "It brings residents together as a community, it supports local businesses, and it reminds us all that we should be eating real food, grown by real, local farmers," he said.
The La Grange Farmers Market is organized with the cooperation of the Village of La Grange. Convenient, free parking is available in an adjacent covered parking garage.Updates for the La Grange Farmers Market can be found online at lgba.com or facebook.com/lagrangefarmersmarket or Twitter @lagrangebiz.
