La Grange Fire Department to Host 2 CPR Classes

The classes will be taught according to the American Heart Association 2010 standards and will include certification in the use of CPR and AED.

The following was submitted by the La Grange Fire Department: 

The La Grange Fire Department has scheduled two CPR classes for 2013. All classes will be taught according to the American Heart Association 2010 standards. The class will include certification in the use of CPR and AED. Participants will receive a Course Completion Card upon successful demonstration of proper skills.

Heartsaver® CPR AED is a classroom, video-based, instructor-led course that teaches adult CPR and AED use, as well as how to relieve choking on an adult.  This course teaches skills with AHA’s research-proven Practice-While-Watching (PWW) technique, which allows instructors to observe the students, provide feedback and guide the students’ learning of skills.

This course is for anyone with limited or no medical training who needs a course completion card in CPR and AED use. The class will last approximately 2.5 hours depending upon the size of the class. The class will be limited to a maximum of 10 and a minimum of 6 students. 

The cost for the class for La Grange residents is $40.00 and non-residents $50.00.

CPR Class Dates:

  • Saturday, May 18, 2013, at 10am
  • Wednesday, September 25, 2013, at 7pm

The classes will be held at the La Grange Fire Station, 300 West Burlington Ave.
