La Grange Park Looking to Hire Part-Time Firefighters

La Grange Park Fire Chief is look for a few good residents to help out their neighbors.

The Village of is looking to hire additional Paid-on-Call (Part-Time) Firefighters, to supplement their current staffing.

This is a great opportunity for those with other careers who wish to serve our village, and for those who want to eventually have a career in the fire or emergency medical services.

"We provide excellent training, while you take on an awesome responsibility to the community," said Fire Chief Dean J. Maggos. "As our department is staffed mostly by dedicated paid-on-call personnel, we keep the spirit of volunteerism alive, while still providing very professional service."

Those interested may pick up an application at the between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, which is located at 447 N. Catherine Ave., in La Grange Park.

The application must be fully completed and brought with to a mandatory orientation session which will take place on Nov. 3rd, at 7 p.m., in the Community Room of the Village Hall. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age, and must live within the Village of La Grange Park, by the official date of hiring, which is expected to occur on or about Jan. 1, 2012. Additional information about hiring and training requirements will be provided at the Orientation.

"In our situation, it actually gives neighbors a chance to help neighbors," added Chief Maggos.
