La Grange Police Sergeant Retires After 24 Years
He has served in several roles at the police department.

LA GRANGE, IL – A La Grange police sergeant is retiring after 24 years with the department.
Sgt. Patrick Fulla was honored at Monday's Village Board meeting.
He joined the police department in 2001 and was promoted to sergeant two decades later. In that time, he has served as a patrol officer, investigator, squad leader and field training officer.

In a brief speech, Fulla recalled when he was called to a home where a father was repeatedly having problems with his son. The father told Fulla, "It takes a village."
"My career is because of the village," Fulla said.

Monday's meeting only lasted 25 minutes, which is short by village standards. Village President Mark Kuchler and trustees Shawana McGee and Tim O'Brien were absent.
Following its practice, the Village Board is meeting only once in July and August, compared with twice in the other months. The next meeting is set for July 14.
