LA GRANGE, IL – McDonald's is probably figuring La Grange residents will be lovin' what it has in store.

The local location is asking for the village's permission to replace its building and then include two drive-thru lanes.

Last week, the La Grange Plan Commission reviewed the restaurant's proposal, but took no vote.

At the meeting, McDonald's expressed an interest in expanding to 24 hours, but the business was told it would need to formally request it, according to the village.

The restaurant wants to construct a 4,100-square-foot building, which would be 5 percent larger than the current one.

The plan includes an outdoor dining patio on the south side of the restaurant.

McDonald's has been at 100 N. La Grange Road for a quarter century. It was accompanied by a gas station until 2019, when the canopy and pumps were removed.

In its application, McDonald's says its changes would have no adverse impact on neighbors because the area is mainly businesses.

The restaurant said its drive-thru boards, which can be a potential source of noise, will be positioned away from houses on nearby Madison Avenue.

The next Plan Commission hearing is set for June 13.
