Labor Day Success for LTSC teams!

Seven LTSC teams competed in various tournaments during the Labor Day holiday weekend: three teams in the Oak Brook Midwest Invitational and four teams in the Chicago Cup Labor Day Showcase in Vernon Hills, IL.

Three teams landed themselves into the finals of their respective tournament divisions: 2007 Showcase boys, 2006 Showcase boys, and the 2002 Union Girls Showcase.

Midwest Invitational:

In Oak Brook, our 2008 Select boys, 2007 Showcase girls, and 2006 Showcase boys faced off against solid competition. The 08 Select boys and 2007 Showcase girls both capped their tournament runs with 1-2-0 records in their respective divisions. Both teams had hard-fought matches with tough competition. The 07 Showcase girls were also playing one division up in their first tournament debut of the year.

The 2006 Showcase boys turned up to play over the weekend playing up one division in the U15 age group. With a final weekend record of 3-0-1 they finished as Champions of the division downing AYSO 300 United 6-1 in the Semi Final match and Glendale Heights Attack 5-1 in the Final. A terrific way to begin their fall season as they now look to enter their Midwest Conference schedule!

Chicago Cup Labor Day Showcase:

Up north in Vernon Hills we had four teams competing: 2007 Showcase boys, 2005 Union Showcase girls, 2004 Union Showcase girls, and 2002 Union Showcase girls. The 05 Union Showcase girls concluded their weekend with a 1-2-0 weekend facing tough opposition. The 04 Union Showcase girls finished their tournament run 2-1-0 just short of a finals appearance falling 1-0 to CSA Academy after defeats over FC United and Chicago Empire.

Both the 07 Showcase boys and 02 Union Showcase girls finished 2nd in their respective divisions! The 07 Showcase boys went a stunning 3-0-0 in group games but ultimately fell to Sockers FC in the final match earning a the 2nd place title.

The 2002 Union Showcase girls top the weekend finishing as a finalist within their division going an astounding 2-1-0 in their group advancing to the final match over FC United PreAcademy, VSA/FC United 01, and Chicago Inter; all of whom are state and nationally ranked. The girls ultimately fell in a hard fought match against CSA Bayern 1-0.
