The LeaderShop, Pillars Chosen as Benefactors for 2016 Brew Moon Fest

La Grange, IL – Brew Moon Beer and Band Festival, the largest indoor craft and import beer festival in the Western suburbs, proudly announces that The LeaderShop and Pillars have been chosen as the charity benefactors of the 6th Annual Brew Moon Beer and Band Festival.

Proceeds from the event will be donated to both charities.

Each year, Lyons Township based charities are invited to apply for consideration through the Brew Moon online charity application process.

“Brew Moon is a unique event in that we partner with private and government agencies, civic groups, and the non-profit community for one common purpose-to provide funding for local initiatives that improve the lives of people in our community. We are excited to be able to support the critical work of The LeaderShop and Pillars this year,” said Steve Palmer, chairman of the event.

Since 1978, The LeaderShop has been providing a safe and welcoming environment for elementary through high school aged youth. Programs offered range from mentoring and leadership to performance groups, outreach/volunteer services and special community-based events. Students are encouraged to express themselves by getting involved in the diverse programs which are designed to give them the tools, confidence and passion to want to make a difference in their community. Involvement in The LeaderShop changes lives, both for the participants and residents of the neighborhoods we serve. The LeaderShop takes a preventive position in helping today’s youth grow into productive leaders in their communities.

Pillars is the largest nonprofit provider of mental health and social services in the western and southwestern suburbs of Chicago, serving 12,000 people each year. Pillars provides mental health, addictions, domestic and sexual violence, child and family services, and community housing. Pillars has eight locations which include La Grange Park, Berwyn, Hickory Hills, Summit, Western Springs, and a domestic violence shelter at an undisclosed location. Several of their services are also provided in community settings including homes, schools, police stations, courthouses, and emergency rooms.

Palmer Place Restaurant and The McCook Athletic & Exposition (MAX), in partnership with the Kiwanis and Rotary Clubs of La Grange have teamed up to host the event onOctober 15, 2016 at 6 p.m.. The event is held at the MAX(The McCook Athletic Expo), located at 4750 Vernon Ave, McCook, IL. Sixteen Candles will be performing at the event.
