LTSC youth teams bring it in Fall Classic!

McCook, IL 12:30 PM, 09/23/2019-

Five LTSC youth teams competed over the rainy weekend in the Woodridge Fall Classic! Despite the weather, all games were played and three LTSC teams competed in their respective finals earning champion or finalist titles: 2011 Boys Premier White, 2010 Boys Select, and 2008 Boys Select Blue.

We are so proud of each and every player this weekend; all of whom put forth their best efforts in every single game demonstrating that the LTSC developmental model and staff continue to elevate the level of play for these young athletes in a fun, productive, and player-centered environment.

2011 Boys Premier White:
The boys opened their weekend in the U9 Orange division (top flight) by going 2-0-0 in group play over Team Elmhurst and Chicago Rush South advancing them into the Semi-Final game on Sunday morning where they downed Firebirds SC 5-1. That semi-final victory advanced them into a closely fought final against Chicago Fire Juniors West. After a lot of back and forth the boys were victorious with a final score of 3-2.

2011 Boys Premier Blue:
In the U9 White division (second flight) our '11 Premier Blue boys fought hard in all three of their matches. With narrow losses early on to Team Elmhurst and Chicago Rush South this team capped their first tournament weekend with so many fantastic team and individual moments of success. We are optimistic and excited about what is in store for them in the coming weeks as they move throughout the remainder of the fall season.

2010 Girls Premier:
Meanwhile in the U10 girls division our 2010 Premier duked it out proving victorious over Lombard Firebirds and Tinley-Frankfort Force earning a place in the Sunday morning semi-final match vs Chicago Fire Juniors West. In a truly nail biting finish the girls fell just short of a finals appearance with a final score of 3-2. The team rounded out the weekend in Third Place overall within their respective division.

2010 Boys Select:
In the U10 Navy division (top flight) the team got an early jump on the competition with stellar performances going 3-0-0 in group play beating out Wizard FC 5-0, North Shore FC 7-2, and Chicago Fire Juniors West 9-0. After a terrific run they were matched again against North Shore FC for a rematch in the final. After a long weekend of play the boys ultimately fell 4-0 in the late evening final on Sunday afternoon rounding out their weekend with a Second Place finish!

2008 Boys Select Blue:
Over in the U12 division our boys pulled together early on downing Lombard Firebirds and Phoenix FC. These victories earned them a semi-final match against the bracket A second seeded Team Elmhurst (whom the team tied 4-4 in league play). After an early goal the team ended victorious 4-0 securing their place in the final against Chicago Fire Juniors West. In an exhilarating back and forth match the game ended tied 2-2. Being moved indoors due to weather the tie-breaking moment was determined by point totals where the 08 Select boys were victorious having 7 tournament points to CFJ West's 6 points!
