Moms Talk: Summer Vacation with the Kids

Road trips, staying at the grandparents, whatever you do, you deserve a trip this summer—even if it's around town.

Well, it's that time of year again: School is out and summer vacation has begun. For many families in La Grange, it's an opportunity to hit the open road.

The great American summer road trip holds a nostalgic value for many of us. I remember long car rides to the National Parks from Maine to Montana. This was before many minivans had full movie theater systems in them. We would listen to books on tape (yes, cassette tapes), and inevitably end up fighting with the brothers a little bit.

On Moms Talk today, we'll be sharing a wide variety of summer trip suggestions. With gas prices as high as they are, a summer road trip can be tough. Are you headed out, or are you staying closer to home this year? If you're staying in town or close by, tell us how you'll do your summer vacation this year.
