Moms Talk: What Do Your Kids Need to Know?

These days, many schools in our area are focused on ways to increase the use of technology in the classroom. That makes sense, considering the tech-focused world we live in today. The careers your kids will enter will likely be even more tech focused.

But what else do kids need to know?

Sure, we don't want to do away with requirements like math, science, and reading, but what other areas would you like your child's school to focus on?

How about art? Even if your kid is no Picasso, the skills developed with an art program—like thinking creatively—are specialized skills that are in demand as well.

I, for one, wish I had taken some simple car maintenance course while I was in high school. Considering how much even simple repairs can cost, it would be nice to have a basic understanding of the workings of an automobile beyond changing a flat tire, or the oil.
