Morton Arboretum Features Western Springs Woodworker

Wooden wonders: Wood from fallen trees at the Morton Arboretum gets a second life thanks to Western Springs artist Richard Dlugo. The woodworker crafts ornaments, birds, saltshakers, vases and more, which he sells through the arboretum’s gift shop. Dino-mite: There’s still time to see Dinosaurs Alive! at the Brookfield Zoo, which opened this spring and runs through Oct. 27. Among the 24 life-size animatronic dinosaurs in the exhibit is a group of feathered dinos that show the beasts’ evolution from delicate bird to reptile-like giant.
