LA GRANGE PARK, IL – Mario Ortiz, a Nazareth Academy baseball coach, died unexpectedly Wednesday, according to the baseball program's Twitter page.
The La Grange Park school confirmed Ortiz's death to Patch on Friday.
Ortiz has been on the staff for the last seven years as the sophomore-junior varsity coach.

"He was a great coach but an even better man," the program said on Twitter. "The Ortiz family is in our prayers."
