Nazareth Academy Student of the Week: Antonio Carrasco
"Antonio is a fine example of a student leader."
Submitted by Nazareth Academy.
La Grange Park, IL - Antonio Carrasco has been named the Nazareth Academy Student of the Week. He is a member of the Class of 2018, of St. Odilo in Berwyn.
“Antonio is a fine example of a student leader. In his first year with Naz Bands, he has taken on visible roles, accepting numerous solos while continuing to hone his saxophone and piano skills. I am excited to see how Antonio grows not only as a musician, but as an individual as well.” said Mr. Sliwinski, director of bands.

What’s your favorite thing about Nazareth?
What I enjoy about Naz is the positive and enthusiastic learning atmosphere. The teachers do an excellent job of allowing class to be fun but also a place to learn. The teachers, students and staff are very friendly and welcoming at Nazareth in general.
What are your post high school plans?
I haven’t made a plan beyond just going to college.
Please choose one of Nazareth’s Four Pillars (Scholarship, Service, Spirit, Unity) and describe what it means to you.
The pillar of scholarship means that, as students at Naz, we must push ourselves and fully take advantage of the education that we are receiving. In doing so we are setting ourselves up to succeed in college and in whatever job or career we choose. The lessons we learn at Naz are ones we can take into the future.
What’s one thing people might not know about you?
I have played the piano since I was five. I was originally introduced to it by my uncle.
