LA GRANGE PARK, IL — Andy’s Frozen Custard is coming to La Grange Park.

The Missouri-based “quick-service” frozen custard chain will build its new location at 515 and 531 N. La Grange Rd, the site of Philip’s Flowers and the former Original Pancake House, officials said.

The village’s Planning and Zoning Commission, and the Board of Trustees voted unanimously to approve the new Andy’s Frozen Custard in mid-January and late February.

During the consideration process, some residents expressed concerns about a possible increase in traffic on La Grange Road and a lack of a middle turning lane creating a safety hazard near the site. One resident even asked for the store’s approval to be put off until the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) weighed in, the Chicago Tribune reported at the time.

IDOT did not express any concerns to the village about the traffic on La Grange Road.
