New AT&T Store Opens its Doors Thursday in La Grange
Also: The Park District of La Grange partners with Countryside for a fireworks display and the La Grange Art League introduces its featured artist for August.

New AT&T Store Opens its Doors: The flagship tenant of the old Borders building is scheduled to open its doors Thursday when the AT&T store moves across La Grange Road to its new digs. This will the first AT&T store of it’s kind in the country, and company reps tell me that all future stores will follow the La Grange model. I’ll be bringing you the full story later this week.
La Grange Art League Features Sue Flanagan: Landscape and still life painter Sue Flanagan is the La Grange Art League’s featured artist for August. Her work will be on display at the Art League, 122 S. Calendar Ave., until Aug. 23. Join the league for a reception from 2-4 p.m. Aug. 18. You can also see her paintings in the book How Did You Paint That? 100 Ways to Paint Landscape.
Ignite the Night: Get another local dose of fireworks when the Park District of La Grange and the city of Countryside team up for a display at 9 p.m. Aug. 1 in Countryside Park, 630 61st St. in Countryside. The event will follow an outdoor concert by the Piano Man, beginning at 7 p.m.
