Mondays, 6/13, 20, 27 (No mtg. on 6/6): Stories of My Life, MPR   3:00pm
Join Chaplain Taylor and fellow residents to reminisce and understand that all our stories have meaning.

Mondays: Great Courses: Skyline Lounge  4:00pm
The “Masterworks of American Art” continues.

Saturday, 6/4: Annual Resident Memorial Service, Dole Hall   3:30pm
Join us to honor and commemorate residents who have died in the past year. Chaplain Carol Taylor will lead the service. Light refreshments will be served.

Sunday, 6/5: Mosaic Mural Dedication, HCC Carhart Garden   1:30-4:00pm
Come see the beautiful Mosaic Mural installed in its permanent home in the Carhart Garden on the North side of the 3rd floor Health Care Center. Designed by mosaic artist and instructor Sue Coombs, this amazing mural was assembled by many of our Plymouth Place Residents (look for their initials tucked in areas of the mural). Enjoy meeting Sue and residents who worked on the project. Refreshments served.

Tuesday, 6/7: Joyful Voices Show, Dole Hall   1:30pm
This 40-voice Westmont community troupe is in their 15th season of senior entertainment. Enjoy “Bandstand is Back”, an exciting collection of mostly 50’s and 60’s Rock ‘n Roll plus a couple of 1980’s favorites.

Meet the Salt Cheek Quilters that meet bi-monthly at Plymouth Place. Some of the members are residents here at Plymouth Place and will be explaining how they make these wonderful works of art. Refreshments served.

Thursday, 6/9: Trevor Stephenson presents Fortepiano, Dole Hall   7:15pm
Trevor Stephenson is an early keyboard specialist based in Madison, WI. He started the Light and Shadow Record and Concert Company, and is the artistic director and harpsichordist of the Madison Bach Musicians. Trevor has recorded more than twelve albums, and gives concerts and lectures all over the United States.
He will bring his 18th-century fortepiano and play pieces by Mozart, Haydn, Beethoven, and Schubert, and talk about the instrument and the composers.

Friday, 6/10: HealthPro Seminar, LL Fitness Room   9:30am
“Meditate For the Health of It!” Join the HealthPro therapy team for a lecture with Clinic. Short interactive discussion on the benefits of meditation and types available, followed by a simple meditation session that can be replicated at home.

Friday, 6/10: Cruise to Morocco with Bill Helmuth, Dole Hall   3:00pm                                                                                                      Our cruise around the world destination this month is Morocco, with a travelogue by Bill Helmuth.
Morocco is an Islamic country on the Northwest coast of Africa, wedged between the Atlantic Ocean and the vast Sahara desert. We visit the essential cities including Casablanca with its Grand Mosque and colorful Marrakesh, a World Heritage site. With some degree of athleticism we board reluctant camels and ride off into the Sahara sand dunes for a 4 hour journey to an oasis to spend an unforgettable night. Along the way we visit the charming mountain and desert villages locked in a time warp where you will meet the friendly locals who introduce us to their historical culture influenced by their European French connection.  Climb aboard for a visual feast you will not forget. Members are welcome share any stories and memorabilia you may have and bring your passport for your stamp. Sample a special treat from this country.

Wednesday, 6/15: The Singing Men of Oak Brook, Dole Hall 7:15pm
The Singing Men of Oak Brook came together in 1984 as a result of the vision and encouragement of the late Dr. Arthur DeKruyter, founding Pastor of Christ Church of Oak Brook.  From their beginning,  the Singing Men have delighted and inspired audiences with concert performances in a wide variety of venues throughout Greater Chicago,  Wisconsin and Michigan.

The program, “Songs from Grandma’s Attic with Autoharp” presented by resident Mildred Kelly will include favorite songs through the years with folk, spiritual, Stephen Foster, religious and holiday selections with autoharp accompaniment.

Chicago Symphony Orchestra docent Gloria French will lead a pre-rehearsal presentation of the CSO June 22 open rehearsal we are attending.

Tuesday, 6/21: Generations – A Family Education Program: Final Matters: Organ and Medical Donation, Other options for Disposition, Albert Hall 7:15pm.  Multiple experts will explore traditional and non-traditional options for disposition of the body.
