MONDAY, JULY 16

Not Allowed in Park After Dark

La Grange police sent two 19-year-olds from Western Springs and La Grange on their way when they were discovered hanging out at Elm Park at about 12:21 a.m.

Dog Chases Kid Onto Porch

A resident on the 100 block of East Avenue reported to police that a brown dog was chasing a child at East and Lincoln Avenues at about 10:04 a.m. Police could not locate the dog or the child.

Car Egged

A caller told police at about 9:40 p.m. that his girlfriend's car had been egged. The girl told police she was the target of cyber bullying last year and the same person may have been involved in the egging incident.

ATVs Found to be Toys

A resident of the 600 block of 8th Avenue called police to tell them kids were riding ATVs in the street. An officer advised it was a toy and not an ATV.

Mysterious Van Reported

A resident of the 400 block of 7th Avenue called police at about 8:40 p.m. to report a maroon van with out-of-state tags was in the area. The caller also told police that a group of teenagers all wearing aqua-colored t-shirts and khakis were soliciting in the area. Police were unable to find the teens or the van.

Kids Hitting Signs with Golf Clubs

A caller reported to La Grange police at about 8:46 p.m. that kids were in Elm Park hitting signs with golf clubs. The youngsters told a police officer they found the clubs in the park. The officer told them to dispose the clubs and go on their way.

Lost Chihuahua Returned

Police returned a chihuahua found at Burlington and Bluff avenues to its owner at about 4:03 p.m.

Calcium Delivered

A resident of the 1400 block of Mason Avenue told police at about 6:54 p.m. her home received a delivery of a bottle of powdered calcium with a generic note attached. Police disposed of the bottle and told the caller to call the postal inspector if it happens again.

SATURDAY, JULY 14

Guns Shots Heard, Could be Fireworks

Police were called to the 700 block of Ashland Avenue after a resident said he heard approximately 10 gunshots at about 2:21 a.m. The resident advised police he had also heard fireworks in the direction of La Grange Road just before his call. Police were unable to locate the source of the noise.

Suspicious Station Wagon

Police were advised of a suspicious station wagon in front of a home on the 200 block of 6th Avenue at about 4:13 a.m. Police said they would keep a special watch on the area, but believed it could be someone delivering newspapers.

Man Yelling Vulgar Comments

A La Grange resident called police at about 3 p.m. to report a homeless man with grey hair and a beard was yelling vulgarities at people on the 100 block of Hillgrove Avenue. Police said the man was waiting for a cab and was sent on his way.

FRIDAY, JULY 13

Girlfriend Locks Man Out of Home

A resident called police to inform them that his girlfriend had locked him out of the house and would not give him his keys at about 9:03 p.m. While on the phone with 911 the man informed police that she had opened the door and had given him his keys and a verbal argument ensued between the two. The man said he was leaving the home and would find somewhere else to go.

Employee Reports Possible Abuse

An employee at a La Grange business reported at about 4:17 p.m. that another employee may be abused by her husband. The caller was told to contact Stickney police where the abuse occurred and was given advice on the situation by police.

Slapped on Metra

A caller told police he was slapped several times by a passenger on a Metra train while it was in Lyons before he got off at Stone Avenue Station. The caller and his mother were told to contact Metra police.
