Riverside Police Begin Summer Slurpee Patrol

Children can earn free Slurpees as a reward for good deeds.

Riverside, IL - Riverside police will recognize children for good deeds and wearing bicycle helmets while riding this summer with Slurpee coupons.

7-Eleven is partnering with law enforcement agencies for the 21st year to distribute free Slurpee drink coupons through Operation Chill, a community-service program, according to Riverside police.

The coupons serve as an icebreaker and a way to encourage dialogue.

“The Riverside Police Department has been participating in Operation Chill for the last 10 years, and I think our officers are almost as excited to give out the Slurpee coupons as the kids are to receive them,” said Sgt. Kotor in a statement.

Riverside police officers will be on the lookout all summer to positively reward and encourage good behavior and safe bicycle operation by local children.
