Woman Sexually Assaulted in La Grange Parking Garage
[UPDATED] Police charged a man with aggravated criminal sexual assault after the incident, which occurred early Tuesday morning.
A suspect is in custody after a woman was sexually assaulted early Tuesday morning in the parking garage at the intersection of 6th and Harris in downtown La Grange, La Grange police said.
David A. Mason, 28, who is homeless with a last known address in Naperville, was charged with aggravated criminal sexual assault.
The woman, who is from Brookfield and also homeless, was sleeping in the garage around 4:40 a.m. when police said the assault occurred at the "top of the staircase of the main vestibule" of the structure.

Police said that the woman had a cell phone and called 9-1-1 immediately after the attack, and that the suspect was spotted on the garage's security cameras by a dispatcher and an officer.
No weapons were used in the assault; the victim was treated at a local hospital for minor injuries, according to police.

Mason, who was arrested near the garage after a foot pursuit, was also charged with resisting arrest. He was transported to Cook County Jail, where he remains on $500,000 bond.
