Smallest Classes In La Grange Elementary Districts
One district has smaller class sizes than the other two, state numbers show.
LA GRANGE, IL – The smallest class sizes in the La Grange area last school year were in La Grange School District 105, according to state numbers.
In the 2023-24 school year, the average class size was 18 in District 105, compared with 20 in both La Grange District 102 and La Grange Highlands District 106, according to the Illinois Report Card website. The statewide average was 21.
In the two previous years, District 105's average class size was 17. That was three or four lower than the other two districts.

According to the Illinois Report Card, research shows that students in lower grades demonstrate the potential for higher achievement scores when they are enrolled in smaller classes.
