'Spooky' Success in Indianapolis!
Two finals appearances in Indy Premier Halloween Classic for LTSC
McCook, IL, 12:30 PM, 10/28/19-
The drive to Indianapolis sounds 'frightening' enough, however, two LTSC teams were not afraid and came home with second place finishes in the 2019 Indy Premier Halloween Classic! Both the 07 Showcase girls and 06 Select girls battled through the blistering cold, pouring rain, and strong winds to get to the finals within their respective divisions.
2007 Showcase Girls:
The girls began their weekend with two strong performances with a 3-2 win over Delaware County 07 Girls and a 2-2 draw with Indy Premier 07 Elite. Saturday competition brought strong wind, pouring rain, and chilly temps putting to the test this team's grit to battle through. These results landed the girls an automatic trip into the finals of their division after poor field conditions cancelled game 3 on Sunday morning. The 07 girls faced off against Indy Premier Elite once more in the final. After fantastic play and much back and forth the match ended 1-0 to Indy Premier Elite landing the girls in second place!

Coach Tiffany Groene stated, "I am beyond proud of these ladies. We have been working hard in training the last few weeks to elevate our level of play and they performed well and had fun this weekend!"
2006 Select Girls:
Battling through the same weekend weather conditions, the 06 Select girls began their tournament with a 2-0 victory over Michiana Echo 06 Copa and 1-1 draw with CCFC 06 Elite. This result also landed them a direct trip in the final for their division after the Saturday weather conditions cancelled the third game of the group games. In a competitive final the 06 Select girls were tested both mentally and physically throughout the match. Though they eventually fell 1-0 to strong opposition, they concluded their weekend with a second place finish!

Asked for comment, Coach Tiffany Groene said "This is a great result for this team. We were playing a much stronger team who play in a higher league division than us. We knew it would take work. It was an exciting game for these girls and to hold them 1-0 is a great result. I am so proud of them this weekend."
