The men asked the employee where the phones were kept. The worker said the phones were in the back.

The suspects then stole at least 50 phones, averaging $700 each, for a total of $35,000, according to the report. They were also believed to have stolen $400 from a cashbox.

During the robbery, La Grange Park police were called about an armed person at a house in the 300 block of North La Grange Road, with La Grange officers assisting, police said. The report, which officers deemed false, was suspected to be a ploy to occupy police while the robbery was taking place, authorities said.
