The Dark Knight Rises at Chimera's Comics in La Grange
Are you as excited as the guys at Chimera's Comics in La Grange about the new Batman movie, 'Dark Knight Rises?' You'll want to attend their red carpet premiere party on Saturday, July 21.

Even if you go see the third installment of Christopher Nolan's epic Batman franchise, Dark Knight Rises, at a midnight screening on Thursday night, you might also want to think about seeing it again this Saturday.
That's just what Carmelo Chimera is doing.
Chimera, the owner of , 19 S. La Grange Rd., is holding a special red carpet Batman premiere party on Saturday, July 21 at the store to celebrate the film's release this week. But even Chimera can't wait that long.

"I'm going at midnight on Thursday—regardless of what that means for my morning." Chimera said. "Yeah, I'm going to see it twice."
If you can wait—and even if you can't—there's good reason to go again on Saturday with a stop by the comic shop first. The party will begin at 8 p.m. before a group of about 50 Batman fans head to the Quarry Theater to catch the 11 p.m. IMAX.

"We get a lot of customers in the store that all want to go see it, so we decided to do it as a group," Chimera said.
The pre-movie party will feature a casual get together at the store with pizza, refreshments and even a Bat Signal cake designed by in La Grange.
"It's going to be a lot of fun," Chimera said.
The store has had success in the past doing pre-movie parties. When The Avengers came to La Grange, the owners of Chimera's Comics brought about 75 people with them.
To make sure everyone has a ticket to go with the group on Saturday, Chimera has already purchased 50 advance tickets to the showing—just to make sure there's enough to go around.
"When I asked for 50 tickets [at the Quarry Theater] the guy's jaw just about hit the floor," Chimera chuckled.
The store is selling them to anyone who would like to join in this Saturday, but they've only got about 25 left right now.
"We're not charging a surcharge, or a fee, or anything," Chimera said. "We just wanted to be able to have them, so customers can buy them for $15, same as we bought them for."
In addition, anyone who buys a ticket will also get a coupon for 33 percent off most items in the store.
"It's about the community of the store," Chimera said. "We want it to be fun, and hopefully, people will bring their friends and we'll get some new people in the store."
For Chimera, Batman has always ranked in his top five favorite superheroes. He's not alone apparently. Chimera said Batman comics are consistently top sellers in the store. Most recently, the ones featuring the supervillain, Bane, have been selling especially well, as Bane is Batman's antagonist in Dark Knight Rises.
"Everyone wants to know who this guy is," Chimera said. "We're really excited about it."
