A cappella singing has been incredibly popular lately thanks to movies like Pitch Perfect. Major movements in modern a cappella over the past century include Barbershop and doo wop. Some a cappella groups use their voices to emulate instruments; others are more traditional and focus on harmonizing.

Ten male students founded Straight No Chaser in 1996 at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. In April 2006, a 1998 video recording of “The 12 Days of Christmas” was posted on YouTube. Straight No Chaser added humorous touches, and more than 16 million people tuned in.
In April 2012, the collegiate group changed its name to Another Round, and the legacy continues.
The original members performed at Chicago’s Wrigley Field, Comiskey Park and Navy Pier, opened for Lou Rawls and toured the country, playing such venues as Carnegie Hall. The original 10 remained together until 1999 when new students were selected to replace the graduating members.
In April 2010 the group performed a TV theme song medley on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon. In the summers of 2011 and 2012 the group performed 40 and 50 performances at Atlantic City, NJ.
“We’re very proud to have Another Round for our Performance Series,” said Executive Artistic Director Eddie Sugarman. “ A cappella singing is so exciting, and these guys are absolutely electric on stage. I can’t wait for them to rock the house at TWS. This performance series is a fundraiser, so please come out and support local theatre.”
