Thefts Reported At La Grange Nursing Home

In another case, a worker's unattended debit card was stolen at a local school, police said.

LA GRANGE, IL – In the last few days, La Grange police handled cases involving nursing home thefts, a violation of a protection order, a DUI, broken windows and a stolen bike. Here is information from the latest La Grange police reports:

Nursing home thefts

  • Money was stolen from a resident's room at Meadowbrook La Grange nursing home while she was out. The theft was reported June 11.
  • A resident noticed her belongings, including identification, credit cards and cash, were stolen from her room June 3 at Meadowbrook La Grange nursing home, 339 Ninth Ave.

School theft

  • A worker at St. Francis Xavier Catholic School reported that her debit card was stolen while it was left unattended June 4. An investigation continues.

Violating a protection order

  • A 63-year-old La Grange woman who lives in the 100 block of South Ashland Avenue was arrested about 8 p.m. June 8 on a charge of violating an order of protection.

DUI

  • A 35-year-old Hillside man was arrested about 10 p.m. June 8 on charges of DUI, illegal transportation of alcohol and no car insurance.

Obstructing an officer

  • A 33-year-old La Grange man who lives in the 300 block of Bluff Avenue was arrested about 1:30 a.m. June 11 at Bluff and 47th Street on a charge of obstructing a police officer.

Broken windows

  • A window of a parked car near Brother's Mexican Grill, 1014 S. La Grange Road, was reported broken about 7 p.m. Tuesday.
  • A parked car's sunroof was reported shattered June 10 at the Uptown La Grange apartments, 31 E. Ogden Ave.

Stolen bike

  • A locked bicycle was reported stolen June 6 at the train station, 4 W. Burlington Ave. It was valued at $600.
