Waste Pick Up and Tree Removal in La Grange

Everything you need to know about getting rid of your old Christmas Tree and throwing out your holiday trash.

When the Christmas presents are unwrapped and the remnants of New Year's poppers are collected and stuffed into garbage bags, residents in La Grange will be looking to take out the trash.

Trash Collection for the week of Christmas, New Year's Eve

On the Village's website, officials announced that trash collection will take place a day later than usual the week of Dec. 26 and Jan. 2. Due to the Christmas and New Year holidays, Allied Waste Services will not be doing their regular pick-ups.

Residents who live north of 47th Street and have their garbage collected on Mondays should put their trash out on Tuesday, Dec. 27 and Tuesday, Jan. 3 instead.

Residents who live south of 47th Street and have their garbage collected on Thursdays should put their trash out on Friday, Dec. 30 and Friday, Jan. 6 instead.

Christmas Tree Removal

Beginning on Dec. 27 and continuing through Jan. 13, Allied Waste Services will be collecting old Christmas trees in La Grange as part of regularly scheduled waste pick-up.

Residents are asked to remove all non-organic elements on their tree before putting it out on the parkway. That means no ornaments, tinsel or lights!

The tree removal service is free and a sticker is not required.
