West Suburban Rugby Team Wins State

LA GRANGE, IL – The West Suburban Bulls recently came back from a 21-point deficit to defeat – scoring in the final play of the game – La Salette Academy 31-28, the Bulls reported.

This means the area team won the Rugby Illinois High School Boys Division 2 State Championship.

Players on the Bulls attend Lyons Township, Hinsdale Central, Downers Grove North, Oak Park and River Forest High School and Nazareth Academy. This was the first year since 2019 that Rugby Illinois had playoffs and a championship.

The Bulls are coached by John Baderman , Brian Moore, Jimmy Hanson, and John Weyer.
