Western Springs Police Reports: Car Burglaries, Theft, Soliciting

Someone fraudulently used a victim’s personal information to get a store credit card and made purchases Aug. 6 totaling $6,632.21, according to Western Springs police.

Someone unlawfully entered three unlocked cars parked on a residential driveway and stole several items, including a woman’s purse containing personal items and documents having an undetermined value, according to Western Springs police. The burglary occurred sometime between 8 p.m. Sept. 12 and 8 a.m. Sept. 13. The car burglaries occurred in the 4100 block of Johnson Avenue.

Someone unlawfully entered an unlocked vehicle parked on a residential driveway and ransacked the interior. The owner of the vehicle could not confirm if anything was taken at the time of the report. The burglary reportedly occurred during an unspecified time the late night/early morning prior in the 3900 block of Johnson Avenue.

Someone unlawfully entered an unlocked vehicle parked on a residential driveway and stole several items including several retail gift cards and approximately $10. The burglary occurred sometime between 8 p.m. Sept. 12 and 8 a.m. Sept. 13 in the 3900 block of Johnson Avenue.

A 17-year-old boy was arrested and issued a local ordinance citation Sept. 9 from Mariano’s on Gilbert Avenue after employees saw him leaving the store without paying for goods totaling $10.85, according to Western Springs police.

Takesha D. Craig, age 33 of the 4800 block of West Gladys, Chicago, was arrested Sept. 12 after police were called to the 4700 block of Lawn Avenue for illegal solicitors, according to Western Springs police. Police say Craig was driving a car with a suspended license. She was charged with driving while license suspended and issued a local ordinance citation for soliciting without a village permit.
