Western Springs Police Reports: Fraud, Car Theft, Hit and Run

Western Springs Police Department provided crime and arrest information through Nov. 23.

Someone obtained and fraudulently used a victim’s personal information Nov. 18 to open up several credit card accounts and make retail purchases, according to Western Springs police. The total amount was unavailable at the time of the report.

A 2013 Hyundai Tucson was stolen Nov. 21 while it was parked with the engine running and the keys in the ignition in the 500 block of Hillgrove Avenue, according to Western Springs police. The car was recovered later that day at 3:07 p.m. in Brookfield. No charges were filed, as the owner of the car didn’t want to prosecute the person who stole the car.

Raymundo J. Granados-Barcena, 43 of the 3700 block of West 62nd Street in Chicago, was stopped for speeding Nov. 18 at Woodland Avenue and Ogden Avenue, according to Western Springs police. A records check confirmed defendant was driving without a license.

Allison M. Otto, 22 of the 4800 block of Wolf Road in Western Springs was arrested Nov. 20 at her home after she reportedly hit a parked car in the Garden Market lot and left the scene without leaving her information, according to Western Springs police. A records check also confirmed she was driving with a suspended license.

Rafael Mojica Jr., 39 of the 6100 block of West 19th Street in Cicero, was in the driver’s seat of a disabled car Nov. 21 when police arrived in the 3900 block of Gilbert Avenue, according to Western Springs police. While speaking with Mojica, the arresting officer confirmed he had a suspended license.
