Westfield Ford to Host USO Barbecue for the Troops

Countryside, IL, — For the fourth year, the Chicago Automobile Trade Association and its dealer members have partnered with the USO of Illinois to host Barbecue for the Troops community fundraising events.

Over the past three years, 100 CATA dealers have rallied their communities to help raise more than $260,000 to support USO of Illinois programs and services.

“What do all dealers have in common? This summer, on July 16, nearly 100 dealers will be firing up their grills to host barbecue fundraisers in support of the USO of Illinois and local troops,” said CATA President Dave Sloan. “Dealers play such an integral role in their communities; they’re truly the pillar of their towns and can rally support from their neighbors like not many can.”

On Saturday, July 16, Westfield Ford is firing up the grill to host a community fundraising event with food and fun for all ages. The proceeds raised will directly support local military and their families.

EVENT DETAILS:

• Time: noon - 6 p.m.
• Location: 6200 S La Grange Road, Countryside, IL 60525
• Activities: BBQing, bake sale, Split the Pot, raffle table, Fire truck/ambulance/police vehicles for the kids to explore, military vehicles to view, magician, PAWS adoption event, Be the Match event, car seat installs, and fingerprinting done by a police officer.

Dealers are also running a social media contest where fans can nominate a military member or veteran they believe deserves the Ultimate Backyard BBQ. People will be encouraged to share a photo and include a caption explaining the reason he or she deserves the event, using #BBQ4Troops.

One lucky winner, and 50 of their friends, will receive the Ultimate Backyard BBQ including a personal cooking demonstration from Real Urban Barbecue chef and the chance to rub elbows with a Chicago Blackhawks player ambassador. Visit Drive Chicago on Facebook for more details and to enter.
