What Sparked La Grange Block Party Fight
The party ended with a choking and a man calling officers names, according to a report.

LA GRANGE, IL – A resident in a La Grange neighborhood had plenty of insults for officers who responded to a fight at a block party last month, a police report indicates.
The man was cited on a disorderly conduct charge.
Patch obtained the police report through a public records request.

Late the night of Sept. 20, officers were called to the 900 block of Seventh Avenue about a man who was accused of choking another. They were separated.
The drunk suspect got into a heated argument over politics and then degraded women, a neighbor told police.

When an officer approached the suspect in his garage, the man said, "What the f– are you doing here? Get the f– back," according to the report.
The officer explained why he was there.
The man responded, "No one's f–ing fighting. Get the f– off my property, you ugly f–t," using an anti-gay slur, police said.
He then said, "Arrest me. Arrest me."
The victim had bloody choke marks around his neck, but decided against pressing charges, police said. Paramedics showed up.
When the officer approached the suspect again, the man said he was sorry.
"I can be a d–k and be a Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde," he was quoted as saying.
He said he was upset over the death of his landlord's dog, saying the animal was put to sleep for no reason, according to the report.
Just before the choking, one of the party-goers said it was time to call it a night. Others attempted to guide the suspect home.
Then a scuffle started, with everyone falling to the ground, police said.
As police issued the citation, the suspect called officers names such as "bald, overweight p–y" and "f–g bitch," according to the report.
He was told that he would be arrested if he did not immediately return to his house.
The suspect then quickly apologized.
The landlord told police that he would evict the man and would contact them if he needed any help, the report said.
