Wild Monk Hosts Evening with Angel’s Envy Bourbon and Rye

Also: Find out how to get free ice cream from Tate's and get another chance to apply for FEMA aid after April's flood.

Heavenly bourbon tasting: Wild Monk may be known for its beer selection, but this Saturday it’s all about the bourbon. The gastropub will be hosting Angel’s Envy for a bourbon and rye tasting from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Saturday. In addition to samples, Wild Monk plans to feature specialty cocktails made with Angel’s Envy spirits, including Cherry Vanilla Bourbon Phosphates, “Old” Old Fashioneds and Proper Manhattans.

We all scream for free ice cream: Tate’s Old Fashioned Ice Cream Shop hides a coin in a La Grange park each day that’s good for a free cone. The shop ups the ante on Friday and Saturday nights by hiding a coin downtown La Grange, as well. Now that’s a game of hide and seek with one sweet reward.

More time for FEMA help: Last week’s deadline for FEMA aid applications ended up being a false alarm. You now have until Thursday to make your case for federal funds to help repair damage from April’s floods.
