Additionally, the woman was able to provide Riverside Police with a voice recording message that was left at her residence which stated, "There are a million more like this out in the public,” police said.
For almost two weeks Riverside investigators, who are specially trained in the recovery of electronic evidence, were able to build a case and recover the photos, voice mail messages and other electronic evidence that could be used for prosecution against the offender, police said.
Riverside Police were also able to confirm that the photos were still being depicted on the websites and being sent via email to several other people throughout Illinois, including family members of the woman.
Stephanie A. Kaczmarek, of the 15900 block of South Arbor Drive in Plainfield was arrested at 8 p.m. March 16.
“In this case, detectives were able to use a new specific statute in Illinois that is intended for offenders who disseminate non-consensual sexual images over public websites or through email systems,” Riverside Police Chief Thomas Weitzel said. “Numerous naked photos were sent to family members and posted on public websites as a revenge motive by the offender. The offender and victim had been friends since grade school but their friendship had soured over dating issues.”
