The Encore Club of Lake Bluff and Lake Forest, a social club composed of more than 300 residents, welcomes prospective members to attend a coffee social Thursday morning. RSVP here to find out the location of this event. The club holds a monthly luncheon for members and offers daytime and evening activities, ranging from athletic outings to potluck dinners.
Sunset Floral Design Center will host an open house Wednesday to share fall floral ideas and offer interactive demonstrations. Food and wine will also be served.

Lake Forest's Career Resource Center will host a seminar Wednesday morning to discuss topics such as the difference between at-will and contract employment, discrimination and harassment issues, attracting and retaining older workers, and social media in the workplace.
The Parent Board of the Gorton Children’s Drop-In Center will hold its annual Oktoberfest fundraiser from 7-11 p.m. Friday The Lake Forest Club. Event proceeds will help fund a new outdoor playground and a learning
garden.
