No Agreement on Gas Station Alcohol Sales

The Lake Forest City Council was unable to reach an agreement on lifting the ban on alcohol sales at gas stations. Another vote is slated for next month.

Lake Forest gas station owners will have to wait awhile for a final decision on whether their businesses will be permitted to sell alcohol.

The city council was unable to reach an agreement on proposed changes to the liquor code at Monday's meeting, so the ban on alcohol sales remains in place for now, reported the Chicago Tribune.

Highwood is the only nearby community that allows gas stations to sell alcohol, according to a survey conducted by Lake Forest Police.
