Summer Roadwork Begins in Lake Forest

City schedules 20 streets for resurfacing this summer including two downtown.

Resurfacing of 20 Lake Forest roadways began May 22, including two streets downtown, with the work expected to conclude by late August, according to Public Works Director Michael Thomas.

Initial work began Friday on Bank Lane and Forest Avenue. Forest will be resurfaced between Westminster and Deerpath while Bank Lane will get a facelift both between Illinois Road and Vine Avenue as well as between Market Square and Wisconsin Avenue.

Parts of Ashley Road, Estate Lane, Gage Lane, Golf Lane, Havenwood Lane, Hawkweed Lane, Illinois Road, Keith Lane, Littlefield Court, Maple Court, Maplewood Road, Oakwood Avenue, Overlook Drive, Red Fox Lane, Ringwood Road North, Rosemary Road, Summit Place, Thorne Lane and Vine Avenue are also scheduled for improvements.

The effort on all of these streets will be done by late August.
