Two Men Enter Home, Assault Resident In Dispute Over Money: Blotter

Charges of drug dealing, drunken driving, battery and criminal damage at a golf course accompany recent arrests by Lake Forest police.

LAKE FOREST, IL — The information below comes from Lake Forest police and Lake County courts as a record of those arrested by police. Being arrested does not mean a person is guilty of the charged offense. Criminal charges merely represent accusations by the state are often dropped or reduced. Everyone named below is innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law. Updated information about the following cases may be available from the Lake County Circuit Clerk of Courts.

ARRESTS/CITATIONS

Corenda A. Cleveland, 42, of the 6200 block of Marshfield Avenue, Chicago, was arrested around 11:45 p.m. on Dec. 2 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, no valid license, unlawful possession of cannabis and uninsured motor vehicle after she was pulled over for speeding near the intersection of Everett and Old Barn roads. Driving drunk without a license can be charged as a felony, but Lake County prosecutors did not do so in her case.

Daniel P. O'Connor, 42, of the first block of Shagbark Road, Lake Bluff, was arrested around 7 p.m. on Dec. 3 and charged with battery following an investigation into an incident in the 1400 block of Abington Cambs Drive.

Marco A. Barete, 32, of the 8100 block of Kilpatrick Avenue in Skokie, and Lizbeth Flores, 23, of the 200 block of Ashland Avenue in Highwood, were arrested around 2:45 p.m. on Dec. 5 and charged with a drug dealing and hit-and-run charges after police found large amounts of cocaine and illegal cannabis in a car from which they fled after a crash.

Gizena L. Sullivan, 41, of the 600 block of East London Court, Round Lake Beach, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after police dispatched to a report that her car was broken down on Route 60 near Interstate 94 determined that she was intoxicated.

Robert C. Young, 71, of the 900 block of Rockland Road, Lake Forest, was arrested on the morning of Dec. 18 and charged with criminal damage to property in connection with an incident that occurred at the Knollwood Club, 1890 Knollwood Road.

Aaron Buckley, 22, of the 100 block of Glenwood Avenue, Waukegan, was arrested around 1:15 p.m. on Dec. 21 and charged with aggravated driving under the influence, unlawful possession of a weapon, DUI-alcohol, uninsured vehicle and failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash. Officers witnessed him crash into a squad car while they were conducting traffic control for a separate incident. Police determined he was drunk and had a loaded gun in his car.

Devin A. Contreras, 27, of the 1900 block of Wesley Avenue, Evanston, was arrested around 4 p.m. on Dec. 24 and charged with retail theft from the Sunset Foods, 825 S. Waukegan Road. Police found him a few blocks away from the store and arrested him after gathering evidence.

Sabrina A. Washington, 43, of the 1200 block of South Kostner Avenue, Chicago, was arrested around 1:30 a.m. on Jan. 1 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and without a valid license after police pulled her over for speeding. She was also issued citations for improper lane usage, unlawful possession of cannabis and uninsured vehicle. Driving drunk without a license can be charged as a felony, but Lake County prosecutors did not do so in her case.

Mervin Badillo, 28, of the 2100 block of Hebron Avenue in Zion, and Nazeem Berry, 25, of the 800 block of South Lincoln Avenue, Waukegan, were arrested around 2 p.m. on Jan. 4 and charged with criminal trespass to residence and assault after police were called to the 1000 block of Havenwood Lane for a report of a battery in progress. The two men told police they had a disagreement about money with a resident there, who officers determined they had come into the house and assaulted.
