LAKE ZURICH, IL — It’s spooky season, and what better way to celebrate the upcoming holiday than with a jack-o’-lantern? How about with thousands of jack-o’-lanterns?

That’s what you’ll get at Jack O’Lantern World, an immersive Halloween experience at Paulus Park in Lake Zurich that opened Sept. 30 and closes Oct. 30. The event draws tens of thousands of people annually, according to its website, and the display is always different.

This year, walk the trail of jack-o’lanterns — which is just under a mile — to experience 17 unique worlds and pumpkins carved by more than 50 artisans. Local food trucks will provide food and beverages.
