Trail With Thousands Of Carved Pumpkins Opens This Week

Jack O'Lantern World in Lake Zurich will open to the public on Thursday.

LAKE ZURICH, IL — Jack O'Lantern World in Lake Zurich is set to open for the fall season this week.

The 3/4-mile trail has thousands of hand-carved Jack o'lanterns crafted by 50 different artisans and will be open to the public starting on Thursday. The trail, which takes about 45 minutes to complete from start to finish, brings visitors through 17 "immersive worlds"and provides a "one-of-a-kind whimsical celebration of Halloween, art, nature and fall," according to the Jack O'Lantern World website.

The trail will be open on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings through Oct. 30. Ticket costs range from $20 to $24 for adults, depending on what day you visit, and $14 to $16 for children ages e to 12 years old. Children ages 3 and younger are free.
